Helping The Homeless

REACH participants and volunteers regularly provide lunch service at the Carpenter Shelter homeless care facility in Alexandria, VA.

Through the program:

• Students get an opportunity to develop a creative menu option and serve lunch to the residents of the shelter
• Students interact with residents of the shelter and get an opportunity to learn about their circumstances

In addition to lunch service, REACH students also help with other shelter needs, including and cleaning and repairing facilities and equipment.
